Love Me Baby - Singin'in The Rain
at Morgan Studio & Air Studio / Co. Be Studio at London andStudio C.B.E at Paris

English translation by J. Sommers

Although the new record project was completely secret, Sheila, Freddy, Arthur and Dany recorded the single without even knowing that it would contribute to launch Disco into the world and that the band would meet instant stardom. The story says that a demo landed but not by chance on Claude Carrere's desk, and that he wanted the song for Sheila, but with a few alterations in the lyrics. The writer, Pamela Forrest, had originally written the song for an American singer. Anyway, that's when the Love me Baby single was released under the band name S.B. Devotion in the spring of 1977.

The LP was not yet out and everybody wanted to know who this mysterious band was. The singer's fans would say that they had recognized the leading singer's voice on the radio station RTL. The trick was elucidated during a Guy Lux's show (Un Taxi dans Rome, A taxi in Rome) : the scenography was devised in order to keep the mystery as long as possible.

Recorded by the musicians in London at the Morgan Studio & Air Studio / Co. Be Studio, Sheila's voice was recorded at the Studio C.B.E by Bernard Estardy in Paris. Sheila was not the only one to have hidden herself with a pseudonym, the writers, under the orders of the producer assumed different names as well. It had all to sound English, hence, Claude Carrere became Paul Racer, Mat Camison, Mike Wickfield and Gilbert Chemouny was Copperman.

Let's go back in time for a moment to understand. Sheila at that moment of her career was singing L'arche de Noé, Noah's Ark, a popular tune mostly addressed to children and families. None could imagine that such a caterpillar would morph into a butterfly. Claude carrere reinvented Sheila into a disco queen who would make Europe dance. Yet none knew about that.

Wearing a short-cut pink T-Shirt soon became her main visual trademark, along with top of the line choreographies, her hair into a pony tail, her hips bare. For some 30 years later, she has inspired future generations of young singers and designers who emulated her disco style.

In order to make the whole project more real, Claude created the SB devotion band with 3 'exotic' dancers to lead the choreographies, but soon the band became Sheila B. Devotion. When one thinks about it, she is a pioneer who as a singer started dancing with male Black dancers. Sheila confessed much later that she then heard many inappropriate remarks and is glad to have pushed racial barriers as she had sung it a few years before in her son in French "Blancs, jaunes, rouges, noirs" (White, Yellow, Red, Black). Nonetheless, the disco mega bomb was launched: after Love me baby, came "Singin'in the rain", the Hollywood standard revisited in a disco trance. She dared it all!

All went well: TV stations invited Sheila B. Devotion, the single climbed the ladders of the main charts in Europe even the famous Top of the Pops in Great Britain. The LP was also well on its way : it is estimated that more than a 100.000 copies were sold in France alone. In the meantime, the movie "Hôtel de la plage" (the Beachcomber) was shot and Sheila was asked to record the title song about this "Beverly Hills" on the Brittany coast. The movie did well which is shown in the DVD bonuses. The title song is released as a single with another one "I don't need a doctor". Sheila actually promoted both songs on French TV channels.

In 1978, probably her most appreciated disco era song is released: this success has to do with cutting edge choreography, her sexy outfits notably the red hot overall dress suit and her excellent vocals. You light my fire was definitely innovating, associating a loud disco rhythm with great bass and drums which could have well been on a record by the Bad Company's, a Brit Hard rock band. There was also an influence of the Spencer Davis Group and their keep on running. It was therefore a real good surprise that topped the English charts for 6 weeks.

As a short break and although the Black Devotion were on pause for a while and would later on have a new single called Trinita on their own for which Sheila would only dance for one Guy Lux show, the latter came back to singing in French with Kennedy Airport. The single has the sound and color of an American production with a kind of Californian record sleeve and lyrics on the American dream and grandeur. Yet, it's a very French production co-written by Toto Cutugno that reached n°1 in the French Charts. Sheila, alone to promote the single made numerous TV shows for it.

Always wanting to surprise her audience, Sheila came back with an uncommon song, first because it wasn't her usual band but 3 new backup singers among whom Mia Frye's mother; secondly because it's a revamped cover of a 1953 classic: Seven Lonely Days which doesn't find the same success hence a new remixed recording in the like of Amy Stewart's Knock on wood, issued as a long version with the mention New American recording.

The craze seemed to be fading and Seven Lonely days is not a real success. Therefore the next single is out under the name S.B. Devotion as the others used to be. During the summer of 1979, No, no, no, no should have been a song from a new very disco LP in production, addressed to the nightclubs. The single was widely broadcast and the DJs added it to their set list. The night dance floor French scene adored it and the single was a club-chart Hit the whole summer.

Yet time had come to find some new sounds. There was no promotion for this single because in secret the new LP, King of the World featuring the smash hit Spacer was being prepared for release…Now here's the follow up on the 2nd US era in NYC.

Splash in the rain

The band is made of Annie Chancel, Arthur Wilkins, Freddy Strachman, Dany Mac Farlane and the producer, Claude Carrère.

Sheila reinvented the sequined short

In 1977, it was a schockwave! A Sheila as she had never been seen before, revealing a perfect dreaming figure, smiling, desirable, dancing…going from l’Arche de Noé to Love me Baby wasn’t an easy undertaking, managing to reshape her image and having her audience forget her past and accept her new persona without losing a large bunch of fans while reaching out to a new fan base.

Those shorts and cut-out tee-shirts became her new visual features, along with perfect choreography, her hair in a ponytail, bare waist and hips. Some 30 years later she still inspires singers and fashion designers.

She would remain in the collective French and International memory as a happy, proud, free singer showing her joie de vivre on up tempo dancing rhythms: disco music. A scarf tied on the knee by Charles Jourdan, a scintillating tee shirt and the sequined short would also remain as the emblems of a generation dancing on unforgettable songs.

I Like It - Soft Silver

I like it soft silver is the musical bridge of the single Singin’inthe rain that lasts 1’50min, and enabled Claude Carrère and Mat Camison to co-sign Arthur Freed and Nacio Herb Brown’s title song interpreted by Gene Kelly. They had the idea of making a 7-minute-cover from a classic Hollywood song with a disco tempo. The song in its original unmixed version lasted 11 minutes.

The famous Like it –soft Silver on the song is in fact a mixing creation by Mat Camison: it’s in fact the repetition of I’m dancing, I’m Dancing, I like it, I like it, in the rain and not of I like –Soft Silver.

Singin'in the whirring

But what did really happen during the recording of the LP Love me baby ? Do our attentive ears hear well this constant humming? Did the blackout that took place during the recording sessions of the LP had an impact on it? There are some rumours that during the recording a major blackout happened. The staff had to install a generator to go on recording but the noise it made is supposed to be on the record and some fans are still trying to hear it.

A step forward towards success in the US

At the time when Disco was the new craze, many song were remixed with this new tempo such as Light my Fire by Amii Stewart or Boney M’s Sunny, but there were also numerous original songs written.

Claude Carrère chose the famous song from the musical Singin’ in the Rain. It was a bold choice, some said it was a mistake, yet he was right since the single made Sheila a success in all the international charts opening for her the doors of Great Britain and the US.

Sheila met with Gene Kelly and later on was noticed by Chic. The band produced in 1979 the 100% Ne Yorker LP with the smash hit Spacer that was in the US Billboard and Cash Box.

I'm your baby doll

As the fans were waiting for an original demo entitled Oh my Munich that was supposedly unofficially circulating recorded on audiotapes, it was in the complete recording boxset that an unreleased song since 1979 was found!

One knew that Sheila before her Chic adventure had started without great enthousiasm a new LP from which Seven Lonely Days was released and surely this song: Sunshine Weekend. Since it was common to revisit former standards with a disco rhythm and after the huge hit Singin’ in the Rain, only the French Disco Queen could adapt and old Rock’n’roll mythical song be bop a lula. The authors are Mat Camison and Pamela Marrion Forrest. Mat explained that for Be bop a lula he remembered his debut in a very famous rock band and Rhythm’n blues.

Maxi 45 tours

Love me baby was one of the first maxi 45/maxi single in the record history. The French one had the LP single version and the import version the 6-minute long version. The French maxi of Shake me included, contrary to what is written on the record, the 7’06-minute version that was thought to be only for import. Have a look at discographie du fil.

Promotion

I don’t need a doctor was released as a single in Feb. 1978 with Hôtel de la Plage that was promoted first. The record sleeve was reversed in March. Therefore depending on the edition of the record, the song is either on side A or side B.

George Hurrel

Born in 1904 this famous photographer started in the 1920s and became quickly famous thanks to his one of a kind way of capturing the image of the stars. He soon was indispensable for a good promotion book, as was the Harcourt Studio in France. Numerous stars were queueing to be among the ones he would photograph such as Rita Hayworth, Bette Davis, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Robert Redfort etc.

In 1978 Sheila had her own photo shoot with this giant who took amazing pictures of the French icon. Magazines published a few of those making Sheila a star in the country of the stars! Original, capricious and single-minded at times Hurel had been using since the 1920s an antiquated 10x8 black and white camera. For Sheila he made an exception and took color photographs. He died in 1992.

“George Hurel explored for a long time my face and surrounded me with old spotlights creating a surreal light, then he started working”, Sheila said. “At the end of the shooting I was completely exhausted.”

Bikers

You light my fire was the new single of the band whose rhythms were still disco but with electric guitars sounds and an improvisation by Sheila at the end of the track, all of which creating a great success, albeit less than the 2 first hits. Sheila B. Devotion started again its international TV show tour, and Sheila loved it. After a show with Michel Sardou at the beginning of the summer, she went to Spain, the UK, all of Europe that welcomed Sheila and her new look in a lame suit and gold mini short. The B devotion also wore golden with flames outfits which enhanced the exceptional choreography.

To make this new image even more real, Sheila stroke a pose with the famous Hell’s angels who roam the roads of California on their bikes. Sheila said that she met them by chance while she was stranded on the side of the road near LA and that they saved her from this mishap. In reality, those bikers owned a magazine on motorcycles and made a report on this Frenchie girl. As a whole, those experiences showed a new image of Sheila far from the Pollyanna persona French TV and culture had made of her.

Indeed, in France she would be seen dancing at Fabrice Emaer’s Palace, the temple of Parisian disco nights where common young crowds would be rubbing elbows with famous stars both national and international. So she didn’t( spent the summer with her husband Ringo, actually she spent it more with her son Ludovic.

Singin'in the rain

The video which is the adaptation of a TV show is later released in 8 mm film. The LP was released on 8-track tapes.

Singin’ in the rain was a big hit either in its single version or its maxi-single and mini LP with a long-remixed track of the song. In France, the 1st singer to ever release such a format was Laurent Voulzy with his 11’45 min. version of Rockollection. The second artist to release a maxi-single was Sheila with Love me baby but without a long-remixed track except in New Zealand! The song was n°1 in 18 countries, n°11 in the UK which enabled her to be the first French singer ever on the cult TV show, Top of the Pops, even though she was singing in English. For that UK performance (they never did it in France) Sheila and her boys wore raincoats and held umbrellas. The LP is supposed to have sold 2 million copies, which is not surprising given the outstanding number countries in which it was distributed.

Singin’ in the rain was the most famous single in the world and not Spacer as many still believe. The LP was even distributed in the US by the disco Casablanca record company, the same as Donna Summer, and got quite an audience on the East coast.

No, no, no, no

In the complete recordings collection, 2 remixes of no, no, no, no are included. The song was used in the 2006 film, Poltergay.

B. Devotion

Sheila had the opportunity to meet again Freddy Stracham more than 30 years later during a concert given at the Mazenod Theater in Marseille on November 22nd 2013. Arthur Wilkins died and there are no news from Dany Mac Farlane.

You light my fire

Sheila blew away 30.000 Italian fans in Verona during a gala in which she shared the limelight with Julio Iglesias and Patrick Juvet. When, she and Dany, Freddy and Arthur appeared on the scene, it was a clapping storm of joy that lasted several minutes. Before they left the scene they received the Verona Cup, a hit trophy. She had yet another time had a great success.

Seven lonely days

It’s to our knowledge the only disco title sang in semi-live (live on a play-back) on Drucker’s TV show. Sheila was often wearing for this title a silver-lamé swimsuit like a mermaid with lookalike boots and used again her legendary you light my fire leg-kick. An alternative version of seven is included in the complete recordings collection.

LOVE ME BABY (M. Wickfield-Copperman/P. Racer-Forest)

Love me baby
With emotion
Baby love me
With devotion
I see tenderness in your eyes
It’s a feeling that you can’t disguise

Love me baby
Baby love me
In the starlights
In the moonlights
Love me like a flower loves the sun
Love me every moment from now on

Only yesterday, I was lonely in a bar
Playing spanish music on my spanish guitar
Then you walking girl, looking like a movie star
Now that we’re together
Please don’t love me from afar

Love me baby
With affection
Baby love me
To perfection
Love me like a breeze loves to play
Blowing through the leaves the summer day

Love me baby
Baby love me
Love me truly
Love me dearly
Love me like green grass loves the rain
Love me like a night fly loves the flame

Sweetly, love me sweetly
Gently, love me gently
Only, love me only

Love me baby
With emotion
Baby love me
With devotion
I see tenderness in your eyes
It’s a feeling that you can’t disguise

Love me baby
Baby love me
Love me even
When I’m crazy
Love me when I sing and when I dance
Love me like young lovers love in France

Lucky, lucky me for a honey girl like you
All I do is love you turn into honey to
Sunlight in your eyes, don’t you feel the same way too
Now that we’re together you love me and I love you

Love me gladly
Love me madly
Don’t you tease me
Come on squeeze me
Love me all the day and all the life
Love me like a man should love his wife

Love me baby
With emotion
Baby love me
With devotion
Love me all the day and all the life
Love me like a man should love his wife

Love me baby
With affection
Baby love me
To perfection.

SINGIN'IN THE RAIN (Nacio Herb Brown/Arthur Freed)

I don’t need sunshine, I’m singing in the rain
I don’t need sunshine, I’m dancing in the rain
I don’t need sunshine, I’m singing in the rain
I don’t need sunshine

I’m singing in the rain
Just singing in the rain
What a glorious feeling, I’m happy again
I’m laughing at clouds
So dark up above
The sun’s in my heart and I’m ready for love
Let’s the stormy clouds chase
Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain, I’ve a smile on my face
I walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just singing, singing in the rain

I don’t need sunshine, I’m singing in the rain
I don’t need sunshine, I’m dancing in the rain
I don’t need sunshine, I’m singing in the rain
I don’t need sunshine

I’m singing in the rain
Just singing in the rain
What a glorious feeling, I’m happy again
I’m laughing at clouds
So dark up above
The sun’s in my heart and I’m ready for love
Let’s the stormy clouds chase
Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain, I’ve a smile on my face
I walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just singing and dancing in the rain

I’m singing, I’m singing
I like it
I’m singing, I’m singing
I like it
In the rain
I’m dancing, I’m dancing
I like it
I’m dancing, I’m dancing
I like it
In the rain

I’m singing
I’m dancing
I like it
I like it
I’m singing
I’m dancing

MOVE IT (M. Wickfield-P. Racer/P. Forest-Copperman)

Move it, move it
Move it all, move it all
Move it, move it
Move it all, move it all

Move it mister, come on
Move it sister
Move it high and low
Move it honey, come on
Move it's fine and
Move it, just let go
Move in rhythm
Rhythm's what you're given
When you dance with me
Slowly gliding
You go riding high
And then you're dancing free

Dancing isn't new
But when I'm dancing close to you
You know you make me move it
Make me move it
Move it through and through

Move it for me, come on
Darling, darling, honey
Move it slow
Move it, move it all
Feelin' hazy
Move it light and lazy
Move it like you know
Move and swing it
Come on dance and sing it
Move it on and on
Move it, move it all
Faster, faster
Like a dancing master
You know you're the one

Dancing isn't new
But when I'm dancing close to you
You know you make me move it
Make me move it
Move it through and through

Move it, move it
Move it all, move it all
Move it, move it
Move it all , move it all

You tap your feet
As your ears grab the beat
You're moving all the time
Move it, move it all
Dance together
We could dance for ever
Move it you know how
Music's louder
And you're acting prouder
Move it on and on
Move it, move it all
Sway your shoulder as
You're feeling bolder
Move it all night long

Dancing isn't new
But when I'm dancing close to you
You know you make me move it
Make me move it
Move it through and through

Move in rhythm
Rhythm's what you're given
When you dance with me
Slowly gliding
You go riding high
And let your dancing free
Move it for me, come on
Darling, darling, honey
Move it slow
Feelin' hazy
Move it light and lazy
Move it like you know
Move and swing it
Come on dance and sing it
Move it on and on
Faster, faster
Like a dancing master
You know you're the one
Dancing...

KISS ME SWEETIE (M. Wickfield-P. Racer/P. Forest-Copperman)

Kiss me Sweetie when you walk
Kiss me Sweetie when you talk
Kiss me Sweetie in a dream
Makes me gently float downstream
For me you are more than Superman

Kiss me Sweetie when you're blue
Kiss me Sweetie, I love you
Kiss me Sweetie, need you so
Kiss me Sweetie, guess you know
For me you are more than Superman

For me you are more than Superman

I can love her on a screen
Never let her treat you mean
Like a lighter or the sun
My love will go on and on

For me you are more than Superman

Kiss me, kiss me, kiss me, kiss me Sweetie
Kiss me Sweetie, kiss me Sweetie
Kiss me, kiss me, kiss me, kiss me Sweetie
Kiss me Sweetie, super, Superman

Kiss me, kiss me, kiss me, kiss me Sweetie

Kiss me, kiss me, kiss me, kiss me Sweetie
Kiss me Sweetie, super, Superman
Super, Superman

Kiss me Sweetie when you walk
Kiss me Sweetie when you talk
Kiss me Sweetie in a dream
Make me gently float downstream
For me you are more than Superman

Kiss me Sweetie, show you care
Kiss me Sweetie everywhere
Kiss me Sweetie on a scene
Kiss me Sweetie, smart and keen
For me you are more than Superman

I am in love, love with my Superman
I am in love, love with my Superman
No one can take him away now
I got a feeling he'll stay now
I am in love, love with my Superman
I am in love, love with my Superman
I am in love, love with my Superman
I am in love, love with my Superman
I am in love, love with my Superman
I am in love, love with my Superman
I am in love, love with my Superman
I am in love, love with my Superman
I am in love, love with my Superman

You're the letter to my heart
In the fallin every way
Lovely girl with you I'll stay

For me you are more than Superman

Kiss me Sweetie when we meet
Not two lovers on the street
Kiss me Sweetie everyday

I'M YOUR BABY DOLL (Matt Camison/Pamela Marrion Forrest)

Now it's time to leave
Something's gotta give
Now it's time to leave
So provide the case

I see that shining in your eyes
Get it, get it, get it, get it

Oh be-bop-a-lula, I'm your baby
Be-bop-a-lula, I don't mean maybe
Be-bop-a-lula, I'm your baby
Be-bop-a-lula, I don't mean maybe
Be-bop-a-lula, I'm your baby doll
Your baby doll

She's the woman in the red blue jeans
I'm the woman  in the red blue jeans
She's the woman that's queen of the teens
I'm the woman that's queen of the teens
I'm the girl that I know
I'm the girl  that loves you so

Be-bop-a-lula, I'm your baby
Be-bop-a-lula, I don't mean maybe
Be-bop-a-lula, I'm your baby doll
Your baby doll

She's the woman that's got that beat
I'm the woman that's got that beat
She's the woman with the flyin' feet
I'm the woman with the flyin' feet
I'm the woman that I've shown
I'm the woman  give me more, more, more, more

Be-bop-a-lula, I'm your baby
Be-bop-a-lula, I don't mean maybe
Be-bop-a-lula, I'm your baby doll
Your baby doll

Get it, get it, get it
My love forever
Get it, get it, get it
It's now or never

You're my provocation
You're my inspiration
Get it, get it, get it
My love forever

Oh be-bop-a-lula, I'm your baby
Be-bop-a-lula, I don't mean maybe
Be-bop-a-lula, I'm your baby doll

Now it's time to leave
Something's gotta give
Now it's time to leave
So provocative

I see that shining in your eyes
Get it, get it, get it, get it

I love my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby doll
You are my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby doll

People love forever
Take it now or never
Never is forever
Love keeps us together

You are my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby doll
I love my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby doll

Together we are leaving
Leaving for a loving
Loving in the night time
Night time is the right time
My little baby, baby, baby, baby, baby doll
You are my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby doll

Holding you, honey
Knowing that you love me so
Holding you, honey
Knowing that you'll never go
Choosing you, honey
Choosing you, I need you so
Choosing you, honey
Don't you know, I need you so

People love forever
Take it now or never
Never is forever
Love keeps us together

You are my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby doll
I love my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby doll
I am your baby, baby, baby, baby, baby doll

You love your baby, baby, baby, baby, baby doll
You need your baby, baby, baby, baby, baby doll

HOTEL DE LA PLAGE (M. Shuman/P. Racer-C. MacLinen)

Hôtel de la plage
Hôtel de la plage

Those days we didn’t have much money
The room was small and ordinary
But when you walk up
In morning sunlight it was
The Beverly Hills

And if we weren’t among the best dressed
I love you in the old blue shirt you wore
Walking for hours
Without flowers, it was
The Beverly Hills, the Beverly Hills

Hôtel de la plage
It was Beverly Hills

The Beverly Hills
The Beverly Hills

You stood by me through hard time
You made me see the bright side
And you had the most beautiful smile I’d ever seen
Without you nothing happens
I need you even more now
And you’re still the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen

Hôtel de la plage
It was Beverly Hills

Those days we didn’t have much money
The room was small and ordinary
But when you walk up
In morning sunlight it was
The Beverly Hills

One day we happened to come back here
The sky was grey and it was raining hard
But deep inside us
We had the sunshine it was
The Beverly Hills

Hôtel de la plage
It was Beverly Hills

It was the Beverly Hills, it was the Beverly Hills

Hôtel de la plage
It was Beverly Hills

It was the Beverly Hills, it was the Beverly Hills...

I DONT NEED A DOCTOR (M. Wickfield-P. Racer/P. Forest-Copperman)

Ah ah

Lost my appetite but I'll be alright
I don't need a doctor, I love him
I can't sleep at night when he's out of sight
I don't need a doctor, I love him
I don't need a doctor, I love him

Deep inside my heart, feel a fire start
I don't need a doctor, I love him
I am in despair and I feel so well
I don't need a doctor, I love him
I don't need a doctor, I love him

Temperature is high
I don't need a doctor
Fever in your eye
I don't need a doctor
Very clear to see
I don't need a doctor
Only remedy
Is this love ?

Only medecine that I need is him
I don't need a doctor, I love him
He's my rainbow's end, he's my tenderness
I don't need a doctor, I love him
I don't need a doctor, I love him

Temperature is high
I don't need a doctor
Fever in your eye
I don't need a doctor
Very clear to see
I don't need a doctor
Only remedy
Is this love ?

Lost my appetite but I'll be alright
I don't need a doctor, I love him
I can't sleep at night when he's out of sight
I don't need a doctor, I love him
I don't need a doctor, I love him

No doctor
No doctor
No doctor, no doctor, no doctor
No doctor
No doctor
No doctor, no doctor, no doctor

I don't need a doctor, I love him
I don't need a doctor, I love him
I don't need a doctor, I love him

I spend hours alone, sitting by the phone
I don't need a doctor, I love him
Only medecine that I need is him
I don't need a doctor, I love him

I don't need a doctor, I love him

YOU LIGHT MY FIRE (M. Wickfield-P. Racer-P.Forest)

You light my fire
You light my fire

Come on and teach me all of your philosophy
Desires running wild for learning inside me
Ouh ouh ouh ouh ouh ouh
Discover all we can
Ouh ouh ouh ouh ouh ouh
Of nature, art and man

You light my fire
You light my fire

You opened up my door in every single way
Because of you it’s true, I’m livin' every day
Ouh ouh ouh ouh ouh ouh
Well, it’s a crying shame
Ouh ouh ouh ouh ouh ouh
When no-one light your flame

I’m shaking my roots
New boots
Honey I’m learning everything all a new
Hey ! hey ! hey !

You light my fire
You light my fire

A passing shooting star has lost a silver spark
And it's the fuse you used when you lit up my heart

You light my fire
You light my fire

It's such a lonely town when you are out of sight
And my heart wearing tears when you are late at night
Ouh ouh ouh ouh ouh ouh
You knock me on my feet
Ouh ouh ouh ouh ouh ouh
You're loving really neat

I'm travelling your way
To stay
You made my world so beautiful and so true
Hey ! hey ! hey !

You light my fire
Higher
All my desires concentrating on you
Hey ! hey ! hey !

Oh ! it's getting higher
Ouh ouh, a blazin' fire
I need you
You need me too
In my soul
I feel it burning
Can't you see it burnin'
Hot, hot, I can't control it
Loosin' my control
You've got my heart on fire
Danger, explosed
Beatin' with desire
Stop, stop
Don't over load

Fire
Fire, you light my fire
Fire, you light my fire
Fire, oh light my fire
Fire, oh light my fire

You light my fire
I'm on fire
You light my fire
Come on and light my fire
You light my fire
I'm on fire
You light my fire
Ouh ouh ouh, light my fire
You light my fire, fire
Light my fire
You light my fire, fire
Ouh light my fire
You light my fire, fire
Oh light my fire
You light my fire, fire
Yeah come on and light my fire
You light my fire, fire
Ouh light my fire
You light my fire, fire
Yeah ! light my fire
You light my fire, fire
Ouh ouh ouh.

GIMME YOUR LOVING (M. Wickfield-P. Racer-P.Forest)

Gimme me, gimme me, give me your loving
I won't wait, gotta fly
Like a bird in the sky
Gimme me, gimme me, give me your loving
Baby don’t hesitate
Give your love celebrate
Gimme me, gimme me, give me your loving
Kissing lips with a smile
Feeling fine, feeling fine
Gimme me, gimme me, give me your loving
Let it show, let me know
Don’t waste time, give your loving now

Love before you was an illusion
With no passion
All confusion
Now you brought me a lasting tresure
Lasting pleasure
You whisper in my ear
So I can hear
Sweet talking that makes me say

Gimme me, gimme me, give me your loving
No more fears, no more tears
Only years, happy years
Gimme me, gimme me, give me your loving
Hold me close, hold me fast
Love me slow, make it last
Gimme me, gimme me, give me your loving
In my dreams, you appear
Haunting me to undear me
Gimme me, gimme me, give me your loving
Tenderly, silently with your love come on, embrace me

You say that I'm your inspiration
Your redemption
Or temptation
Lost in a world of fascination
Lost creation
You whisper in my ear
So I can hear
Sweet talking that makes me say

Gimme me, gimme me, give me your loving
I won't wait, gotta fly
Like a bird in the sky
Gimme me, gimme me, give me your loving
Baby don’t hesitate
Give your love celebrate
Gimme me, gimme me, give me your loving
Kissing lips with a smile
Feeling fine, feeling fine
Gimme me, gimme me, give me your loving
Let it show, let me know
Don’t waste time, give your loving now

Give me, give your loving
Give me, give your loving
Give me, give your loving
Give me, give your loving

Oh baby
Give me, give your loving
Oh baby
Give me, give your loving
Oh baby
Give me, give your loving
Give me, give your loving

Gimme me, gimme me, give me your loving
I won't wait, gotta fly
Like a bird in the sky
Gimme me, gimme me, give me your loving

KENNEDY AIRPORT (Toto Cutugno/C.Carrère-J. schmitt)

Une femme arrive sur Kennedy Airport
Quatre heures de vol sur l’Atlantique
C’est comme un film d’amour Paris-New-York
Un homme attend derrière la vitre
I love you, I love you, I need you
I want you, I want you, je t’aime
Ah ah ah ah ah ah

L’avion descend vers Kennedy Airport
Elle pense en voyant l’Amérique
Un an d’absence, de luttes et de remords
Sa vie est au bout de la piste
I love you, I love you, I need you
I want you, I want you, je t’aime
Ah ah ah ah ah ah

Trafic dans la ville
Cinquième avenue
Vingt-huitième étage
Appartement deux mille
Murs blancs, souvenirs
Tableau irréel
Musique d’un amour
Ouvert sur le ciel

Il fend la foule de Kennedy Airport
Et pour eux, s’agrandit l’espace
Plus d’océan, plus rien entre leur corps
Que quelques pas et face à face
I love you, I love you, I need you
I want you, I want you, je t’aime
Ah ah ah ah ah ah

Trafic dans la ville
Cinquième avenue
Vingt-huitième étage
Appartement deux mille

SEVEN LONELY DAYS (E. Shuman-M. Brown)

Seven lonely days make one lonely week
Seven lonely nights make one lonely me
Ever since the time, you told me you were through
Seven lonely days I cried and cried for you

Oh my darling I’m crying, boo hoo hoo hoo
There’s no use in denying I cried for you
It was your favorite pastime making me blue
Last week was the last time I cried for you

Seven hanky’s blue I’ve filled with my tears
Seven letters too I’ve filled with my fears
Guess it never pays to make your lover blue
Seven lonely days I cried and cried for you

Oh my darling you're crying, boo hoo hoo hoo
It’s too late in your trying to start a new
From now on I’ll be dreaming with someone new
Last week was the last time I cried for you

Seven lonely days make one lonely week
Seven lonely nights make one lonely me
Ever since the time you told me you were through
Seven lonely days I cried and cried for you...

SHEILA COME BACK (M. Wickfield-P. Racer/P. Racer-P. Forest)

I’m burning to be free
Sheila come back
I’ve got so much to see
Oh Sheila come back
Now I’m on fire to leave
Come back, come back

Not gonna come back
Liberty is for me
Seven wonders of the world I gotta see

On my way
Sailing over summer seas
Rocked by a gentle breeze
To California’s redwood trees
I wanna make a wish
By the Fountain of Trevise
A wish to travel far
Under lights of silver stars

I’m burning to be free
Sheila come back
I’ve got so much to see
Oh Sheila come back
Now I’m on fire to leave
Come back, come back

Not gonna come back
Liberty is for me
Seven wonders of the world I gotta see

On my way
Exploring the Bermuda Isles
Legends of centuries
Someday I’ll discover these
You know I long to see
Sphinx in all her mystery
I’ll linger for a while
By cool waters of the Nile

You’re a girl there ain’t no stopping
You know you’re breaking my heart
So if you go, I’m going with you
You know we never can part
If you go you take me

Seven wonders of the world I gotta see

On my way
Sailing over summer seas
Rocked by a gentle breeze
To California’s redwood trees
Dance barefoot on the sand
Like Alice in Wonderland
I want to dance all night
Under bright Manhattan lights

I’m burning to be free
Sheila come back
I’ve got so much to see
Oh Sheila come back
Now I’m on fire to leave
Come back, come back

I’m burning to be free
Oh Sheila come back
I’ve got so much to see
Come back, come back
Now I’m on fire to leave
Oh Sheila come back
I’m burning to be free
Come back, come back
I’ve got so much to see
Oh Sheila come back
Now I’m on fire to leave
Come back, come back

TENDER SILENCE OF THE NIGHT (P. Racer-M. Wickfield/P. Forest-P. Racer)

Tender silence of the night
Fingers are entwined
Searching desperately for sleep
Sleep I cannot find

Tender silence of the night
Drifting through my mind
Memories return to me
Slowly I unwind

Kiss of silver butterflies
Soft upon my skin
Sunless day draws to an end
Moonless night begins

Tender silence of the night
Covering my sights
Shadows seem to disappear
Love has touched my cries, my cries

Heat of seven summer suns
Chasing all my qualms
Tender silence of the night
Take me in your arms, your arms

Flying high on silver wings
Love has touched me deep
Maybe I will rest a while
In the land of sleep, of sleep

Ah ah ah ah ah ah
Ah ah ah ah ah ah

Tender silence of the night
Covering my sights
Shadows seem to disappear
Love has touched my cries, my cries

Cries, cries

Heat of seven summer suns
Chasing all my qualms
Tender silence of the night
Take me in your arms

Flying high on silver wings
Love has touched me deep
Maybe I will rest a while
In the land of sleep, of sleep

Tender silence of the night

SUNSHINE WEEK END (P. Racer-Matt Camison-P.Forest)

I’m gonna take a ride
To the country side
Gonna get myself fun and sunshine
I’ll say goodbye to smoke
Baby, it’s no joke
Gonna live city lights way behind

I wanna sunshine week-end
Wanna boogie back to paradise
I wanna sunshine week-end
Without planning, let us improvise

Walk on a wild sea shore
Climb a sycamore
Holdin’ hands with my sweet lovin’ man
We’ll laugh and sing away
Turn night into day
Sharin’ secrets, sharin’ all that we can

I wanna sunshine week-end
Wanna boogie back to paradise
I wanna sunshine week-end
Without planning, let us improvise

My analyst said
I’m easily led
So lead me on lady
City get you down
Shake it off the town
I will follow baby

Takin’ a sunshine week-end
Takin’ a sunshine week-end
Takin’ a sunshine week-end
Takin’ it now

Girl, I’m in a spin
My head’s wanderin’
Wanderin’ about tomorrow
Wait, I’ll pack my bag
Packin’ all I have
Goodbye city sorrow

Takin’ a sunshine week-end
Takin’ a sunshine week-end
Takin’ a sunshine week-end
Takin’ it now

I’m gonna take a ride
To the country side
Gonna get myself fun and sunshine
I’ll say goodbye to smoke

Gonna live city lights way behind
